AZCFUG.org AZCFUG February Event: ColdFusion 10 party! - Feb 1
This month, February 27, 2013, we have another cool event. It's the ColdFusion 10 Launch Party! Featuring Rakshith Naresh, who will be presenting live from Bangalore where he manages ColdFusion as the Adobe Product Manager! He's been to a number of conferences in the states since taking on the role of PM, and he's a neat guy. I've asked him a lot of hard questions about CF and the future, and he takes it and answers them all really well.
We have a bit of funding from Adobe, so I need suggestions for catering. Maybe not as nice as Cornish Pasties (that was so January), but hopefully better than pizza (which will probably be next month).
If you plan to come, I would love an email or a comment so that I can estimate how much food we will need.
Here's a Google Calendar event.
AZCFUG.org Adobe Create The Web Tour - January 29, 2013! - Jan 8
Welcome to 2013! We are starting the year big with the Adobe Create The Web Tour! The other Adobe User Groups in the Phoenix area are teaming with us to bring this event to our town. Create The Web is a world wide tour covering new Adobe tools and technologies for building modern web content.
From Adobe:
The next generation of HTML and CSS offer powerful new features for creating content that is graphically rich. It's never been easier to leverage animation, motion graphics, and sophisticated graphical techniques when building for the modern web. Come see what Adobe is doing to move the web forward in these areas by working on new W3C specifications, tools that help designers create content, and services for testing content across screens.
We are holding this meeting on Tuesday, January 29th 2013 at 6:00 PM. It will take an hour or so, plus eating & drinking time, and we encourage you to stick around and socialize. Adobe is picking up the food and beverage tab. The meeting is at the Collins College 14th street campus in Tempe: 1425 W. 14th Street, Suite 101, Tempe, AZ 85281.

About PhoneGap
PhoneGap is an open source framework for quickly building cross-platform mobile apps using HTML5, Javascript and CSS.
Wrap your app with PhoneGapDeploy to multiple platforms!
Building applications for each device–iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile and more–requires different frameworks and languages. PhoneGap solves this by using standards-based web technologies to bridge web applications and mobile devices. Since PhoneGap apps are standards compliant, they're future-proofed to work with browsers as they evolve. Read an in-depth post explaining PhoneGap visually.
PhoneGap has been downloaded over 1 million times and is being used by over 400,000 developers. Thousands of apps built using PhoneGap are available in mobile app stores and directories. Check out some of them here.
The PhoneGap code was contributed to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) under the name Apache Cordova. Through the ASF, future PhoneGap development will ensure open stewardship of the project. It will always remain free and open source under the Apache License, Version 2.0.
